If you do not absolutely have to go through Butler, Ga.....don't!! I was headed to Columbus, GA on Georgia Highway 96 and passed through Butler, GA. A deputy by the name of Ryan Pounds followed me for more than 5 minutes and then decided to pull me over. Keep in mind that I was driving the speed limit, 65mph in a 65mph zone. Mr. Pounds asked me several questions about where I was going and what I was doing before he decided to tell me the reason for him pulling me over. Mr. Pounds said I failed to maintain my lane. He went on to say that his computer went down and he could not run my insurance at the moment. He suggested that in the meantime, he would run his drug dog around my car. He got the dog out and started to walk around my car. I watched him in the mirror as he bumped my car 2 times. With that being said, he came back to my window and asked me to step out of the car. Mr. Pounds told me that he was going to search my car for drugs because "the dog bumped my car". I stepped out of the car and went to the back of my vehicle and witness him ramble through my belongings. After finding nothing illegal in the car, officer Pounds said that the insurance check "should be back by now". He handed me my license and I asked him for his badge number. Mr. Pounds then told me that "He would give me something with the number on it" and asked for my license back. He then went on to write me a citation for failure to maintain lane. Throughout the stop, for which he had no reason to pull me over, officer Pounds was quite rude and disrespectful. I was harassed and suggest that if you can find a route around Butler, Ga. Do so!

Awesome people.
